A beautiful Zulu or Swazi war spear for close quarter combat ‘iklwa’ or more commonly known as an assegai. Heavy and solidly made piece of high quality with lovely old patination throughout, the wooden shaft glossy and in perfect condition with a flared butt and decorative carved feature. The spear collar made of finely twisted braided steel wire again surviving in excellent condition. Large thick and very robust steel spearhead of flattened diamond section.
