A small charming ‘Vendetta’ dagger from Corsica. A known type this small example is very finely made and of good quality. The handle decorated with ivory and strips of worked tortoiseshell, mounts of silver. The blade of tyipcal form slightly tapered form with thickened tip, decorated on both sides with etched decoration, ‘vendetta’ on one side at the forte, and ‘morte’ ( death) the other. 19th century. just over 20 cms long.
