A nice complete straight sword from the Sudan known as a ‘Kaskara’. The handle and upper scabbard mounted with silver, the pommel and grip engraved finely with various pattern, the pommel disc form with a small facetted cube to the top. The blade double edged with a wide shallow central fuller, leather scabbard complete with hanging straps and tassles, decorated with decoration throughout. Early 20th century in date. Nice complete example in very good condition
