A very rare Early Fakirs Crutch. Very early piece in good condition Mughal period probably 17th or early 18th century. The whole decorated with fine Sadeli work micro mosaic pieces of white and stained ivory brass, ebony and other materials. The arm rest section ending with two birds heads. Considering the great age and fragility of this piece, it survives in exceptional condition with minimal losses to the inlay. A true Museum piece. Fakirs crutches of this type were used by nobles and royalty to support their arms during lengthy relaxations, and audiences.
