Interesting original Turkish musket dating to the late 18th century. The firing plate interestingly using a North European flintlock mechanism which appears to be from a French 1777 Charlevilles musket. The plate with some small stamps beside the firing cock which has a reinforced loop. The pan of brass. The barrel also appears to be from the same form of French musket with a small stamp to one side near the breech. The wooden stock of typical Turkish form with some carved decoration to the butt. The fullstock retaining the barrel with some simple iron cappucines, and retaining its iron ramrod. This gun is in fair unrestored condition, wear and some losses ie trigger guard, the mechanism and trigger with faults. 58 inches approx. A unique piece! middle east ottoman
