An antique Turkish flintlock pistol circa 1780. The wooden stock inlaid with a lattice work of eastern silver, large metal pommel butt. The lock with very fine engraved decoration to the lockplate, the top of the frizzen and the topjaw. The barrel is inlaid for its full length in thick silver, with an emblem amongst the more regular geometric devises to one side of the breech. The tip with a long silver mount and also a ramrod holding tube again of eastern silver. Overall sound condition, the mechanism not working, some old loss of wood surface beneath the lockplate, various dents. losses and cracks to the metalwork.
