A very nice quality sword from the Arabian Peninsula Oman. Excellent steel blade sharp on both edges, with a single wide fuller, and stamps of manufacture on both sides, probably European. The hilt laced with leather and silver, with a large silver covered elongated pommel. Scabbard covered with black hide skillfully decorated by applying to curled string underneath creating and embossed type surface, chiselled engraved silver moounts and hanging bands, with fabric loops for hanging from a belt. 19th century, the blade earlier. 105 cms long approx
