Large Impressive Chinese double sword shuangjian

 Impressive 18th/19th century Chinese double sword shuangjian. Both steel blades embellished on both sides with  silver and gold decoration with calligraphy, symbolic and mythological motifs, and quialong characters. The mounts of brass chiselled and pierced, originally gilt. Painted calligraphy to the reverse sides of both hilts. engraved grips. A near identical sword referenced in Robert Hales book, " Islamic and Oriental Arms and Armour" figure 493. 86 cms long overall
