Large bladed Zulu Spear Assegai 19th century

A very nice early Zulu spear.Another one from the same scottish private collection

Large bladed example sometimes known as an iklwa supposedly for the sound made when drawing it from a body

Superbly made steel blade with double edges,

very rare collar made from intricately knotted cord, the wooden shaft long and tapering, all original and uncleaned.

Some age cracking to the shaft, but no movement at all, this is in great condition with no loose parts

dating to the 19th century Zulu war period
