Javanese Womans Silver Earplugs 19th century

A most interesting a beautiful pair of 19th century Javan ear plugs or spools, for a woman. Made from silver, the fronts loaded with diamonds and rubies ( stones missing from both), these plugs were worn by younger women and were characteristic of the region. Made at Semarang, North Java, 19th century.
