Good 19th century Chinese Dao sword with chiselled pierced mounts

 A very nice quality Chinese Dao sword. Mounted throughout with gilt brass pierced and chiselled mounts to the hilt and scabbard with decorations of dragons and scrolls.  The hanging bar and circular handguard engraved with light decorations. The scabbard covered with polished shagreen, some minor loss due to age near the tip. Original woven fabric grip binding with a hole left for a lanyard. Good steel blade, gently curving with a series of deep fullers and lighter grooves along both sides of the length,, good thick spine for strength.
