A very attractive Middle Eastern Kindjal dagger probably from Turkey or Syria. The large hilt beautifully made from a mosaic of black horn, white bone or ivory, mother of pearl shell, silver and brass metals in an unusual style. The good quality steel blade etched alon its fullers with scrolling designs. The steel scabbard with applied bold silver decorative motifs for its entire length, the top with a panel of arabic calligraphy, and with a small silver ball finial to its tip.
