An interesting Dha sword probably From Laos or Thailand. The long two handed hilt made from cast copper alloy, with an orangy pink tinge suggesting a high copper content, three bands of ornate spiral and raised decoration made from the lost wax casting process, two plain sections between probably originally held organic bound or woven grip material, thread or cane. The curved blade with a very thick spine about 12mm thick at the forte. Peculiar tip shape with almost recurved point. The dha has many features similar to very archaic Dah swords sometimes excavated with bronze hilts, so stylistically and in reality may be much older than it appears. 85 cms long overall, the blade 48 cms
