An interesting early South Indian Fighting sword.Very ancient in form, sword of this shape were used from the 14th century onwards in south India. This example is while plain in decoration, very functional, with a razor sharp thin blade reinforced by a long projecting central iron mount. The hilt is of solid steel, thick handguard, tiered steel pommel. The blade is in good condition, with some minor edge nicks from fighting on the flared tip. Dark antique patination throughout.
