A most interesting and rare Manchu Chinese recurved bow with central folding mechanism, perhaps a travelling weapon or one needing to be carried or hidden for convenience. The limbs covered with many decorative features, birchbark, strencilled and cut out designs and panels, and geometric features. The grip with cork covering, and thick iron central folding hinge. The outerface with polished black horn facing. Complete with its original twisted thick sinew/gut bowstring. 19th century.
