A scarce North Indian lance ‘Sang’. Made entirely of good quality steel, this spear or lance is relatively light and well balanced for use whilst remaining very strong and resiliant to breakages. The quadrilateral long tapering spearhead forms a point, the shaft is chiselled with decoration for its entire length and is inlaid at intervals with brass, some of the inlay now missing. The end of the spear has a small solid iron butt to act as a counterweight. Very rare antique piece dating to the 18th or early 19th century. 73 inches long approximately.Indo-Persian
