A good example of a Sikkin Panjang warsword from Aceh, North Sumatra. Large cleaver type steel blade with some signs of laminated pattern welded blade, the steel bolster integral to the blade and shaped with lobes. The grip is made of a solid block of horn, beautifully chiselled and the pommel shaped as an open jaw. The scabbard with large carved ivory upper mount inlaid with black lac ( slight repair to one end), and the body covered with silver wholly covered with chiselling and decoration, Circa 1880. southern asia
