Rare Sri Lankan Sinhalese Patisthānaya spear polearm

A very rare Singhalese ( Sri Lankan, Ceylonese) polarm weapon of spear type similar to the european partisan or spontoon. The shaft lacquered in patterns of different colours and designs including lozenge and intertwining tendrils.The head is attached to the shaft with extended steel straps. This is a very old piece with age wear to all parts, the metal with light pitting and blackened patina. 190 cms long.18th century or earlier.
