18th or 19th century Tibetan dagger or shortsword

An attractive original Tibetan shortsword dating to the 19th century or earlier. Brass and silver chiselled mounts, the pommel set with a large red coral. The reverse with original woven silk hanging tassel and leather thong. The blade of characteristic Tibetan style with pattern welded 'flame' pattern tapering to a sharp point. Previously in a private UK collection formed in the 1960's, collected in Northern India from Tibetan refugees.
