Rare pair of Chinese heavy bronze Sai Jian bar maces. The blades of thick four sided section concave to each face to form a sharp edge on each corner. The handles ending with ball finials and grips wrapped with fabric. Very rare coming with original double leather sheath, each mace weighing over 2 kgs, together nearly 4.5 kgs, each mace 63 cms long
Set of Persian Jarid darts or throwing javelins in scabbard. The darts of steel twisted decoration and traces of engraving and gold detail, the scabbard of greenish leather sewn to reverse. Steel mounts with traces of engraved decoration with patterns of goldwork. Some minor damage to wood, only two darts present. 19th century. Rare item, 81 cms in sheath, 74 cms long darts
A very nice and collectible pair of 18th century Flintlock holster pistols, from the Ottoman Empire probably made in Bosnia, around Sarajevo in the Balkans by a master gunsmith. The stocks are wholly covered with very fine pure silver filigree wire decoration in scrolls and panels. The handles and breech region are further set with decorative red stones. Fine steel work locks beautifully engraved, the barrel is also chiselled and engraved with some characters and writing. Weapons of this quality were important throughout the Islamic world as indicators of status and fashion as well as functioning items for self defense. These would have been worn either in a double holster attached to a horses saddle, or stuck through a wide waist sash or belt which was typically Turkish and Balkan.
A superb early Bronze Lantaka deck cannon or swivel gun from Northen Borneo /Brunei. These ornate bronze canons were typically used along the gunwales and decks of ships, most notoriously those used by the Malay pirates who were active in the South China Seas around Borneo and the Philippines. This examples is small, cast from heavy bronze and ornate with a cast crocodile mounted to the front, and also most interestingly has an exploded breech section showing a failure during active firing!! 19th century or earlier

Two fantastic oriental weapons soon to be added to Ashoka Arts Fine Antique Arms and Armour. A scarce curved scimitar sword of ‘shashka’ or shashqa form with damascus wootz steel blade, and ivory/bone hilt complete with scabbard, and an antique oriental compound or recurved bow from Bukhara or Kazakhstan/Uzbekistan complete with its bowstring… both very rare pieces to find..
