A good old Maasai warriors shield. Large domed hide, the front painted with rank and status designs painted in red blood and black. The reverse with old patination and hide loops, the wooden stiffener/grip missing. Rigid and in good order, a fine display piece. 40 x 23 inches. Circa 1900. |
