A stunning large shield of the Nilotic Sudan area, probably Dinka. Large thick hide with fine repeating raised dotted design to the front. The shield reinforced with a thick pole down its length the top with a swollen feature, the bottom pierced with a hole. The grip of hide, a raised boss protects the hand from the front. 52 inches.
