A good scarce Indian spear or lance. The shaft of strong bamboo, thick forged very robust steel head with light decorative fullering, the butt end with a shaped and decorated steel shoe. An old authentic fighting piece, very hard to find. 18th century, possibly earlier. 90 inches long approximately. The lower image shows an 18th century engraving of an Indian footsoldier carrying a similar spear.
