A very attractive 19th century Moroccan musket 'Taoulzilt'. The stock and butt decorated with chiselled pierced silver/silver-alloy work, the main panel to the butt featuring a dove or similar bird carrying a message or package. The barrel mounted and covered with chiselled silver cappucines for its length, complete with hidden steel ramrod beneath. The steel lock of flintlock/snaphaunce type in the early european style. The trigger guard and butt reinforcments of iron. A very unusual piece from the Sous valley in Southern Morocco.
