A good old pole-arm of halberd type from South East Asia. The large steel blade of very heavy construction with sharp front and back edges, the surface with chiselled decorative motifs, and with a hole to the back. Lower iron mount of lobed 'lotus-leaf' form, and mounted on its original hardwood shaft. Good condition, 79 inches approximately. 19th century, South East Asia possibly Vietnam.
