Very old and attractive matchlock musket from North-West India/Sind. Guns from this area have the typical large flared butt and can be beautifully mounted and decorated. This piece probably dates to the 18th or very early 19th century, it retains its original matchlock mechanism which is in good working order. Constructed of beautifully deep coloured hardwood, the stock and butt has much of its original chiselled and decorated brass furniture present, steel trigger and lock arm, multiple brass cappucines, and a heavy damascus twist steel barrel.
