An early Albanian or Northern Greek miquelet musket 'Racak' . The stock wholly covered with shaped plates of steel and brass chiselled profusely with scrolling designs, and inlaid with mother of pearl and pewter. Typical slim fishtail butt. The lock of characteristic miquelet flintlock form with a small makers stamp to the lockplate with arabic characters. The barrel of octagonal section with raised steel sight to the fotre. Chiselled brass cappucines. Retaining its original steel ramrod. Good overall condition, age wear to parts and some inlay missing. 57 inches overall. Circa 1800. $1895 |
