Rare and unusual flail mace consisting of a short steel haft attached to a longer steel linked chain and terminating in a small heavy steel ball. Use of such flails or maces from an early period are described in Indian references. Steel haft with bulbous hand fittings , originally embellished with silver decoration, well made steel-linked chain, small shaped steel ball-head with angled centre. Total length 32 inches.
