An interesting group of spears from Northern Borneo, and the surrounding area. Two scarce barbed spears of the Saribas, used for fishing and warfare, five Dyak spears, the iron heads lashed to the side of a wooden shaft with intricate rattan binding, three 'sumpitan' or blowpipes, with iron blades attached to the shaft with cane or brass, five spears with brass mounted collars possibly Melanau or Murut, and three silver mounted Malay type spears probably also of Brunei origin. All in excellent condition, and some retaining their original sheaths. From the collection of Thorkild Møller. Danish Military pharmacist in the Dutch East Indies c. 1913-1931. The spears dating to the late 19th/early 20th century.
