A good quality Indian dagger
usually called a 'Khanjarli'. Beautiful shaped ivory grips and lunette
pommel of a golden colour. The iron mounts damscened with gold and
silver decoration, knuckleguard terminating with a makkara monsters
head. Silver damascening to the blade forte and guard. Deeply recurved
blade with ribbed reinforcement and decorative shaping to the top.
Age wear and minor losses, the ivory in excellent condition. 13
inches overall. 18th or 19th century.
