A very attractive dagger from North India. Made in the Arab style with 'jambiya' type blade wide with double edges and a thick raised central ridge with an angled curve. The mounts of finely chiselled gilt-copper in designs with flowers and scrolling tendrils. The central section of faded red velvet. Good condition, minor wear to gold, wear to velvet, the very tip of the chape is missing. 13 inches overall, early 19th century. $895 |
