A good quality Turkish sword 'Yatagan'. The hilt wholly of chiselled silver retaining some of its original gilded surface in parts. The blade of good thick steel, single-edged and forward curving. Both sides of the blade are decorated with long panels of arabic calligraphy inlaid deeply into the blade with thick silver. Good condition overall, 28 inches long.. 18th century.
