A large and scarce Dao sword from Northern Assam. The long hilt of bamboo with silver mounts of high quality, the end mounted with a tuft of red/white dyed hair. The long square tipped blade of huge proportions, and very strong with a back edge 1 cm wide near the hilt. 37 inches long overall, the blade 27 inches. 19th century, Assam Hills/Burma border. $595 |
