A good old Indian sword 'Tulwar'. The blade with broadening tip of a type sometimes called a 'Tegha', high quality 'damascus' steel with visible strong pattern welded watered patterns. The hilt of bright gilt-copper, the surface finely decorated with engraved foliate scrolls, a handguard with a stylised monsters head to the end. Wide disk guard to the end with a domed pommel, all retaining its gold decoration. A very stylish fighting sword, good condition, minor age wear, the blade retaining an unetched dark patina. 33.5 inches overall, the blade 28 approximately.
