An unusual pair of daggers from Burma 'Dha'. The very fine quality blades decorated with scenes, figures and calligraphy in thick silver against a blued steel background. The hilts of silver with filigree decoration, the grips further decorated with figures inlaid with silver and copper/silver alloy. Hardwood sheaths with silver mounts. One lower mount missing to one dagger, the end pommel of the other having lost its silver cover. 14 inches overall. Burma, 19th Century. $1100 |
