An attractive good quality fighting sword from Burma 'Dha'. The blade of good quality thick steel decorated for the entire length of both sides with a blued centre section with applied silver scrollwork, a short section of silverwork to the spine. The hilt with brass mounts applied with silver wirework filigree. The grip of white shagreen deliberately left rough for non-slip, tacked with brass pins. The scabbard of wood tied with rattan (some missing bands), retaining its original red silk wrapped carrying sling. 32.5 inches. 19th century.
