An interesting early Indian sword 'Khanda' The straight broad fullered single-edged blade with indications of lamellar watering along its length, the forte with chiselled makers markings and inlaid with two gold dots, a single gold dot near the tip. The steel hilt with chiselling and silver damascened scrolled koftgari, the pommel of discoid form and the grip protected with a knuckleguard. Deccan/Central India, 17th or 18th century.
