A large and heavy Naga war-axe 'Dao'. Thick steel triangular 'chisel-edged' blade, the long wooden shaft with some lacquered binding to the bade. The end spectacularly applied with coloured hair. Good condition, a fighting piece dating to the early 20th century. 32 inches long approximately. Assam/Nagaland.
