A large and heavy mail war shirt. Constructed wholly of rivetted rings, open at the neck. The arms extending to the elbows and the bottom to the knees, the centre split to allow for horseback use. The mail has been partially cleaned, the lower edges to the skirt and arms have some losses and are a little ragged, overall the mail is in fine condition with very few holes to the torso.This shirt is of good size. Dating 17th-18th century. Probably India, although this shirt could also be Persian or the surrounding region.
