Antique Shield Indian Dhal

An antique Indian shield dhal. Thick hide lacquered black, four central brass or copper bosses with edge piercing on fabric backing. The reverse retaining its leather padded cushion and straps (loose). Age wear overall, dating to the 19th century. 19 inches diameter approximately.
