Two side plates with arm cut-outs to the top, and two larger rectangular breast and back pieces of steel ( almost certainly wootz/'damascus'). The four plates with a most attractive darkened patination contrasting with gold decoration to the edges, and the cartouches of arabic calligraphy to the centres ( worn. Each piece with a reinforced edge of gilt-brass. The buckles of silver, one chiselled with some writing in Devanagri or Sanskrit. A rare and interesting armour dating to the 18th century.
