A very rare Precolombian funerary statuette from the Huari culture of North Western Peru, dating to the 6th or 7th centuries AD. Simple but striking carved wooden figure with applied polychrome pigments and with some hair strands remaining. Open holes originally for textile or wooden arms retaining the fibrous binding material. Good condition. From a private Dutch collection.
