An attractive Song period generals officials belt from China, 12th/13th century. Gilt-bronze segments each constructed of two pieces, fitting together to form a 'box' like section. Slits to one side would have originally allowed a textile band or belt to be threaded through. Gilded buckle, and flattened end plate. Mineralized remains of fur to the reverse side of the belt. Beautiful patination of greens and browns over the gilding, better photos. on request. A museum piece.
